This listing is for the KT Layer Display box, which measures 6.25 inches x 8.25 inches x .875 inches. It includes a vial with a KT boundary soil sample discovered in Slope County, North Dakota that dates back 65.5 million years. There are 3 layers of soil. The brown layer is from the Paleocene, the black layer is from the KT extinction, and the grey layer is from the Cretaceous Period. The black layer contains high levels of micro meteorites and the element iridium, which is rare on Earth but common in asteroids. Pictures are representative of what you will receive, but there may be small variances since each sample is unique.
